The CHRGD Story

CHARLIE CHAPLIN

As I began to love myself, I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health… that drew me down and away from myself. At first, I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today, I know it is love of oneself.”

Each CHRGD product is handmade in Canada, charged with positive energy and thoughtfully-sourced with healing adaptogens like moringa and rhodiola to help reduce inflammation, promote cell recovery, fight external stressors and protect against circulatory, oxidant and UV aggressors. They’re all non-toxic, cruelty-free, and formulated to soothe, heal and nourish.

This quote sums up the philosophy and concept behind CHRGD Apothecary, the adaptogenic skincare line created by Toronto-based makeup artist Alicia Nikole.

CHRGD was created out of Alicia’s love for natural healing and her desire to offer her devoted clients radiant skin that glows from the inside out. The line reflects Alicia’s clean, uncomplicated approach to skincare and is fuelled by her passion for helping her clients look and feel their best.

“Working in the beauty industry for 18 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of different brands and products, but I’d never found one that resonated with me both inside and out. Recently, I started studying natural healing, and through this, I decided that I didn’t want to use chemical-laden products that were wreaking havoc on my body anymore. It was equally important to me that the ingredients be ethically sourced. I’d tried several clean beauty products, but none of them gave me the results I was looking for. That’s when the idea for CHRGD started,” tells Alicia. “When I started experimenting with adaptogens for my skin, I found that with the right ingredients, I could let go of a lot of my go-to products – ones that made my skin look great, but weren’t great for my body – and still have gorgeous skin. And I wanted to share that with the world.”
